Zagata

Jesse Proteau is a singer, composer and producer from Montreal. The eagerness to harvest deep into his inner sound, created Zagata.

Zagata emerged from a cold Canadian winter in 2012. Jesse surrounded himself with producer John Nathaniel, Jean-Nicolas Leupi from Le Matos, songwriter Dylan Ferguson and his mentor Mao.

The result of this collaboration is a candid, but somehow a bit dark, cinematographic sound reminiscent of what the 1980s had best to offer. Jesse’s grounded voice pierces the mix and the production level is solely phenomenal.

Zagata is a living paradox born from a naive leader paying tribute to his father era. Today, you can hear from these songs the endless pursuit of the dream and the underlying power of hope grasping outrun melodies in the echoes of a car chase, far in the dark vicinity.
