WEBSTER AND MARIEME UNVEIL AN ODE TO LIMOILOU: “RETOUR À LLAND"
Alongside his sister Marieme, Webster unveils today “Retour à Lland.” An ode to their roots, the song celebrates the Limoilou neighborhood : the place where they were born, raised, and shaped.
Musically, this family collaboration brings us back in some ways to “Everyday.” Much like the 2010 hit from Le Vieux d'la Montagne, Marieme returns with a catchy hook while Webster delivers equally sharp rhymes. The instrumental, produced by DJ Nerve, also echoes “LLand” (Sagesse Immobile, 2007).
Like the previous single (“Pt. III” featuring Melvin), the music video directed by John John Films draws on the visual codes so closely tied to 90s hip-hop imagery: street corners, crew shots, and urban backdrops. A distinctly urban video for a neighborhood that helped redefine hip-hop in Quebec City.
This track is the final release ahead of Webster’s upcoming album, WEB DuBois, set to drop on May 15.
