MATT MOLN UNVEILS « TRAGIQUE DÉCÈS D'UNE ÂME SENSIBLE »
After an acclaimed appearance on Star Académie in 2021, Matt Moln quickly turned his attention to producing a debut album. The time has finally come to unveil the first track he wrote for it, "Tragique décès d'une âme sensible", on the Coyote Records label.
With this song, Matt Moln announces a soaring yet energetic universe to be discovered over the coming months. Before reaching its final form, "Tragique décès d'une âme sensible" went through four completely different arrangements. In the end, Matt Moln opted for a sound reminiscent of a dark cruise, a boat gently sailing on a black sea. The overlapping of lyrics open to interpretation and long intrumental moments leaves room for introspection on the part of the listener.
"The song is about grief, not as something that has happened, but as something imminent. It's the space between the announcement of death and death itself: to be sincere, it's now or never," expresses the singer-songwriter.
The visuals for the song, created by Catherine Robitaille, feature stop-motion animation of fragile clay puppets, whose imagery borrows from the strong symbolism of the song's lyrics.
