Following “ Rivière,” Laurence Castera unveils “La manière,” the second single from his third album, due out this spring.
“La manière” explores the kinds of relationships he keeps returning to despite knowing they will hurt. Built around repetition, the lyrics reflect a constant tug of war between reason and impulse, even if it means accepting the damage.
Initially conceived as a short, stripped-down piece, the song evolved through group work, revealing a natural groove along the way. Castera chose to keep the live-recorded demo to preserve what emerged spontaneously in the moment.
Carried by a lively piano and organic percussion, “La manière” gives the impression of being in the same room as the musicians, right at the heart of the moment.
