GREGORY CHARLES UNVEILS HIS ALBUM « PIANO RENAISSANCE : APPASSIONATO »

FIFTEEN ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS, INSPIRED BY KEY FIGURES OF THE RENAISSANCE, OFFERED BY THE VIRTUOSO PIANIST ACCOMPANIED BY GRANDIOSE STRINGS.

Gregory Charles, one of the most talented pianists of his generation, presents today, on all digital platforms, the first eight songs from his new album Piano Renaissance: Appassionato. A magnificent first glimpse of the complete album, which will be available everywhere in physical and digital versions from November 24! Inspired by the greatest thinkers of the Renaissance - including Michelangelo, da Vinci, Galileo, Machiavelli, Shakespeare, Copernicus and Gutenberg - Gregory Charles will offer a total of fifteen original compositions, each dedicated to one of them. "Intruders, unusual phenomena and igniters. They changed the world and the course of history by thinking about the future differently, while drawing inspiration from the past," explains the virtuoso, accompanied for the occasion by a grandiose string ensemble, where violists (Sebastian Gonzalez Mora, Marie-Lise Ouellet), violinists (Marjorie Bourque, Frédérique Tanguay-Gagnon, Isabelle Bouchard, Caroline Laurent) and cellists (Julien Siino, Camille Paquette-Roy) become one with his piano.

"For my 9th birthday, my mother gave me a series of books about Renaissance figures, larger-than-life men. Then she composed piano pieces for me depicting them. The following year, I visited Italy with my parents. We retraced the places, from Milan to Venice, from Florence to Rome, where these thinkers had evolved. My curiosity was piqued. The Renaissance ignited a flame, a flame that had been extinguished for a thousand years. It became an inferno. It became a passion. Like my mother, I wanted to compose pieces inspired by certain characters and events of that period, and now I'm sharing them with you," says Gregory Charles.

The album Piano Renaissance: Appassionato is produced by Gregory Charles and mixed by Gautier Marinof. The first eight tracks are now available on all digital platforms, and the full physical version of the album will be available everywhere on November 24. Produced by Les Productions Gregory and published by Coyote Records.
