GASPARD EDEN : IN YOUR CAR
September 5, 2025 – Quebec City singer-songwriter and illustrator Gaspard Eden releases “In Your Car,” a woozy, soft-focus ballad drifting between the mundane and the introspective. The single, out today via Coyote Records, announces his new album, Crooked Lines, set for release on October 3, 2025.
Taped straight to analog in Eden’s own ULF Recordings studio, the song merges DIY folk-pop charm with nods to exotica, Harrison-style slide guitar, and a reverby clarinet section that sounds like it just woke up from a dream. A vintage “maestro rhythm king" drum machine guides the track’s gentle momentum, alongside Wurlitzer keys and wobbly acoustic guitars that shimmer like passing headlights.
Lyrically, Eden romanticizes the quiet stillness of passenger-seat moments of wandering thoughts, city lights through the windshield, watching strangers fade in the rearview mirror. Beneath the surface, there’s a subtle tension: a mind drifting too far, a gesture too slow, and the quiet irony of forgetting to lock the doors, only to find the car is gone. “In Your Car” is a soft burn of blurred time, quiet humor, and emotional clarity.
